Cabernet

The music of Klender's Cabernet album is like his wine; fun! A driving and light-hearted approach to enjoying the finer things of life. With songs like "Drinking in the Sunset" and "Life is a Cabernet" you'll want to move while you are drinking.

Klender also lives on, and runs, his own vineyard and boutique winery where he produces the gold medal, award-winning, Klender Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. He divides his time between his vineyard, winemaking and writing/producing music. Klender accidentally (or wildly on purpose) just released 5 new albums of his own material. The album titles relate to the 5-star points of his favorite, tangled obsessions (Stories, Passion, Anthem, Cabernet & Worship). You may listen to samples of his music below or if you CLICK on the TITLE, of any underlined song, it will take you to a detail webpage that highlights more information about that song, on this album. These pages include detailed Credits as well as music videos, video interviews and a Backstory about each song, which we believe you'll find interesting. A digital Box Set, of 35 songs, has also been released titled "Farewell", which contains an entertaining collection of his songs, from other albums.

Life is a Cabernet

Pour me a memory, that makes me think of you
Love in a wine glass, delicious and true
Yes, she can be a lady, ooh such a sexy thing
Nirvana in the night-time, man she can make you sing,
and give you wings…

Oooh, Life is a Cabernet
Oooh, Love is a Cabernet

You can drink her now, she tastes so berry fine
Or you can lay her down, but her love will take some time
The magic & the mystery, just look at those legs… warm long legs
Perfect nose and color, she’s my midnight lover, Cabernet

Oooh, Life is a Cabernet, you never know what she will bring
Oooh, (my) Love is a Cabernet
…. she’s a mystery…
The taste of licorice cherry, each time you kiss my lips
Warm with hints of chocolate, …I crave another sip
Mmmm, give her time, let that baby breathe, she makes me believe
If loving you’s a crime, lock me up; and throw the key

Oooh, Life is a Cabernet, you never know what she will bring
Oooh, Love is a Cabernet… repeat

The Vineyard Song

Waking up before the sun
Stumblin’ out of bed
Pulling on my hat and boots
Moonlight on my head
Mockingbird up in that Oak tree
Mocks me with his dance
He knows my job is never ending
Ooops, forgot my pants

You gotta prune a little, tie a little
Thin and tuck and wine a little
Grab a cup of joe
There's work to be done on the vines
You gotta spray a little, pick a little
Poison those damn squirrels a little
Grab a cup of joe
There's work to be done on the vines

Rev that tractor down the rows
Pull those nets in place
The morning sun comes up and melts
The smile right off your face
Wet bandana round my neck
Canteen on the pole
What's this underneath my boot?
Another gopher hole

You gotta prune a little, tie a little
Thin and tuck and wine a little
Grab a cup of joe
There's work to be done on the vines
You gotta spray a little, pick a little
Poison those damn squirrels a little
Grab a cup of joe
There's work to be done on the vines

Time to party, check the brix
Harvest day is here
Dump those grapes into their bins
Celebrate another year!
Separate those stems and seeds
Blend a fruity crush
Then do it all again next year
Tell me, what’s the rush?

You gotta prune a little, tie a little
Thin and tuck and wine a little
Grab a cup of joe
There's work to be done on the vines…………………

Party in a Bottle_Cab

Harvest time is over
Put on your favorite dress
Fix up your hair and makeup
Time for a little rest
We can park the pickup
Down in the ol’ grape vines
Have a picnic and a slow dance
We’ll have a real good time

Pour a Klender Cabernet
Take a holiday
It’s a party in a bottle
You got a party in a bottle

Get all our friends together
Turn the music up
Pop a cork and toast the weekend
Lift that drinking cup
Let it breathe & oxidize
Salute the brightest star
And we can sip and sing all evening
Break out my ‘ol guitar

Pour a Klender Cabernet
Take a holiday
It’s a party in a bottle
You got a party in a bottle

Good food, friends and wine
You can taste the magic in the vines
Laugh & loving life at full throttle
We’ve got a party in a bottle
Party in a bottle

Drinking in the Sunset

Waiting on the cool of the evening
Watching for that warmth in your eyes
While the wine softly whispers in the wind
We lift our glass to the auburn skies
Let our cares escape ’til another day
Let’s get lost in this Klender Cabernet
Take my hand as the sun goes down
Feel the music, turn you around

Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you
Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you

Floating all around ‘cross the dance floor
Sippin’ down this fruit of the vine
Girl, I’m still so in love with you
These memories last, and taste so fine
We might feel a little tipsy now
Still we trust our gypsy hearts somehow
Dream in living color true
Let’s fly outta the blue, oooh, oooh, oooh

Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you
Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you

Let our cares escape til another day
Let’s get lost in our Klender Cabernet
Hold me tight as the sunshine fades
Just you and me, drawing the shades

Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you
Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you

Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you, oh oh
Drinking in the sunset, Dancing with you
Dancing with you

Red Wine Blues

When the night is way too young
And you’re down to your last drop
When you’re thirsty for another
You don’t want this mood to stop
Then baby flashes bedroom eyes
Your heart falls on the floor
She sighs, my glass is empty
And the wolf howls at the door

Man I sure could go…
for a Klender Cabernet
Or an Almond Hill Syrah…
to take the edge off my day
When all the good stuff’s gone,
and white wine just won’t do
You’ve got the out-of Red wine blues

Fresh mushrooms roast in butter
Tri-tip’s smokin’ on the grill
And the Bob’s Bread smells of garlic
And your baby’s dressed to kill
As she smiles across the table
Your wine has all run dry
She would love just one more glass…
Or you can kiss tonight goodbye

Man I sure could go…
for a Klender Cabernet
Or an Almond Hill Syrah…
to take the edge off my day
When all the good stuff’s gone,
and white wine just won’t do
You’ve got the out-of Red wine blues

Call up my neighbor, or text a faithful friend
She’s got that look in her eyes, but the wine’s gone again…

Man I sure could go…
for a Klender Cabernet
Or an Almond Hill Syrah…
to take the edge off my day
When all the good stuff’s gone,
and white wine just won’t do
You’ve got the out-of Red wine blues

Puttin’ Out Some K_Cab

I remember she used to be a 32 B
With deep brown eyes, so sweet on me
But she headed for the stage lights of Nashville Tennessee
Now she has shiny teeth (pearly whites) & a double-D

Somebody’s putting out some K
Nails & facials everyday
They say you gotta pay to play
Somebody’s putting out some K

She met her famous Dr., when she sang at a corporate show
A rich old plastic surgeon, wouldn’t you know
From her bleached blond hair to her rhinestone toes,
To her sequined Gucci clothes
She thinks that all it takes to reach her dream… is dough

Somebody’s putting out some K
Nails & facials everyday
They say you gotta pay to play
Somebody’s putting out some K

She’s come a long long way since our trailer park days
From that small town girl to her big town ways
From chugging Bartles & James, to sippin’ Klender Cabernet

Somebody’s putting out some K
Nails & facials everyday
They say you gotta pay to play
Somebody’s putting out some K

Somebody’s paying out some K
Nails & facials everyday
They say you gotta pay to play
Somebody’s putting out some K

This Barn

This Barn

I built this barn with a hammer and nails
Big pile of lumber, my toolbox won’t fail
Don’t know what drove me, except the need to play
Start out at dawn, and work straight thru each day

Some friends said “hey man, that’s too much damn work”
But some friends don’t know me, probably think I’m a jerk
Some just can’t understand, my motivation and drive
Each man’s gotta do, what helps him survive

Chorus:
This Barn says freedom, this barn speaks dreams
This Barn makes music, bustin’ out at the seams
This Barn might get old, but it’s new to my soul
If these walls could talk, they’d tell stories… of gold

Lift up each rafter, and nail ‘em in place
Just me and my tractor, hot sun on my face
An old metal roof, to keep out the rain
5 trucks of concrete, to bring on the pain

Chorus: then Lead break:

2 long years, 40 long poles
5000 nails… beams deep in their holes
It took months of hard sweat, but now it feels mighty fine
Time to play me some music, drink a glass of my wine

Chorus 2x, ending
