Ocean City Nights

There's a wondrous little ocean peninsula along the Atlantic eastern coast which is the town of Ocean City. It's a family vacation playground and a mecca for young college students. I used to entertain there in the summer months. I have great memories there and so do millions of others who have spent many summers along the coast. There's one long highway that meanders along the coastal dunes with beautiful sandy beaches and lots to do. The restaurant and bar scene is legendary with lots of entertainment and fun to be had everywhere.

The nights are humid and beautiful there which holds the warmth from the Spring and Summer days. When school lets out everyone goes "Downee Ocean", as the locals say. The bay is the other side of peninsula so you are surrounded by water almost everywhere you go. This bustling place deserves its own Anthem... it's that great. I've always meant to write a song about the town and my many memories there. Of course, seafood is famous there; crabs and beer, surf & turf with great wines, specialty drinks abound for the ladies everywhere. If you can't have fun in Ocean City, give up on having fun! What a place...

Ocean City Nights

Headin’ downee ocean, Friday
For a blowout weekend in the sun
Backed up on the Bay Bridge, baby
Put down the top for some fun
I see the glow of the distant Lighthouse
Gazebo lights on the bay
Breathing in that cool salty air
My heart is hungry to stay

Ocean City nights
Summer love in the moonlight
My favorite little hideaway
Oooh, those Ocean City nights

Cruisin’ Coastal Boulevard
I dream of you here by my side
Steal a kiss on the boardwalk baby
Riding the tide
Baby, I’ve got some cash to burn
Let’s close ol’ Macky’s down
Then lay out under the stars that shine
And toast this crazy ol’ town

Ocean City nights
Summer love in the moonlight
My favorite little hideaway
Oooh, those Ocean City nights

Bikini beaches
Warm summer skies
Where we can party forever
And the music never dies

Like wild horses of Assateague
Nothing could keep me away
I’ve got memories to last a lifetime
And that’s just yesterday

Ocean City nights
Summer love in the moonlight
My favorite little hideaway
Oooh, those Ocean City nights

Ocean City nights
Summer love in the moonlight
I can still remember…just like college days
Oooh, those Ocean City nights

Ocean City nights
Summer love in the moonlight
Our perfect Seacrets hideway
Oooh, those Ocean City nights

Behind the Music

I performed in Ocean City many, many summers. It's a high energy town and I enjoyed bringing high-energy shows to the nightspots. The guys and girls are all tanned and beautiful all summer long. There's a famous Boardwalk that runs right along the beach for miles where you can stroll with your love, sampling salt water taffy, Thrasher fries and the arcades. I'd love to play one more night there! - It's such a precious part of my life and legacy.
