My world fell down around me
So deep in debt, I can’t even move
Crumbling walls surround me
Drowning in darkness, lost in the blues

A hand-out to hold, the heart of a friend
Someone to sit with, and believe again

Hug, a smile and a touch
Hug, I could use one so much
Warm blanket, hot tea in a mug
Don’t sweep me under the rug
Hug

Living through my blackest night
Waiting alone in the rain
Grasping for some saving light
Hoping that it’s not a train

One kind word, would warm my soul
And pull me out of this sinking hole…

Hug, a smile and a touch
Hug, I could use one so much
Warm blanket, hot tea in a mug
Don’t sweep me under the rug
Hug

Sit with me thru my tears
Hold my hand through the rage
Pray with me though my fears
Help me to breathe – and be okay

Hug, a smile and a touch…
