Once & For All

The day Jesus hung on the cross, He gave His life up for every one of us, so that we could have eternal life, free of charge. There are no requirements for eternal life, other than to "believe" that Jesus died for your sins. It's that simple; if we believe we are saved. Apostle Paul writes in the Bible book of Romans 6: verse 10, that Christ died once to defeat all sin and He died for all who believe. It's a very simple message.

It's important for us to understand what Grace is all about... The two bookends of the Bible are "Law" (Old Testament) and "Grace" (New Testament). The Law was created as a standard to teach us that, as sinners, we could never live up to the perfection that The Law demanded, so that we would finally realize that we could never EARN our salvation. The Law was given to teach us that we needed a Savior. Grace came to this Earth; it was God's gift to man, His one and only precious Son, given birth through a Virgin, as the only sinless man, Jesus Christ; so that we could simply believe upon Him and be saved.

Historians say that crucifixtion was the most harsh and severe torture and punishment ever given, invented by the Romans. Christ willfully accepted this torture as a way to save us all from our own sin. As God, Jesus could have stood up and escaped the torture of the Cross, at any moment. He could have called down an entire legion of angels on His behalf; but He didn't. He knew He had to go through this for us and He loved us so much that He accepted the perfect will of His Father, as he layed down His life. Jesus' death and resurrection was such a selfless act that gave each person the opportunity for eternal life. The beauty of all this, for believers;... Hebrews 10:2 teaches us, that "ONCE, we are purified (Once receiving His forgiveness), we have no more consciousness of sin". This helps us realize who we are in Christ (not sinLESS; but sin is no longer held over our head; allowing us to live freely, thanks to what Jesus did for us Once, on the cross). Freedom!

Once & For All

"It is accomplished", I heard Him say
As He hung broken on my cross
All of humanity was saved that day
For those who believe He paid their cost

Once and for All, Christ died to save me
Once and for All, For God so loved the world
Once and for All, He rose again to free me from the Law
It's not about what WE should do, but what HE did
Once and for All

We share Your kingdom, of righteousness
In Earth as in Heaven Your will be done
Joyful saints go marching, we glorify Your name
To live in grace-filled mansions 'neath the Son

Once and for All, Christ died to save me
Once and for All, For God so loved the world
Once and for All, He rose again to free me from the Law
It's not about what WE should do, but what HE did
Once and for All

Repeat refrain

Behind the Music

I wrote this song as part of my work as a worship leader. There's no story in the Bible that gets misconstrued more than what it takes to be Saved. No matter what you may have heard, there are NO church rules that determine your salvation. God's love gave us a simple solution... BELIEVE on Jesus, and be saved. Christ even said, "No man comes to the Father, but by me." That is pretty simple and easy for anyone to do. Simply pray, "God, I'm sorry for my sins... I need Jesus as my Savior". It's FREE, and only takes a small mustard seed of faith... simply BELIEVE.
