You Gotta Believe

If your ship hasn't come in yet... or if you haven't experienced a wondrous miracle in your life; then you are due, my friend. It's time to trust and believe.

Truth be told, most of us have experienced something miraculous in our lives. Those times when your situation magically turned on a dime. Those days, when things just go your way. Those are small miracles in life and we all experience them... it's just a matter of realizing it and always on the look out for more of those exciting days...

Belief is the key that brings it to be. Seize it today...

You Gotta Believe

Remember when the times, rained as hard as a storm
And you didn’t have a dime to your name
Remember no tomorrows, when the sun never shined
The illusions of love, that your pain overcame

You gotta believe
Girl, you gotta believe
Your miracle's coming
You gotta believe

Remember when you thought those doors would all close
And the ceilings would all cave in
Remember all those secrets that nobody knows
Those illusions of life, thru the vapor of sin

You gotta believe
Girl, you gotta believe
Your miracle's coming
You gotta believe

Live in the moment, with faith for today
If grace is your mystery, meat it halfway

You gotta believe
You gotta believe
Your miracle's coming
You gotta believe

You gotta believe
You gotta believe
Your miracle's coming
You gotta believe

Behind the Music

I remember coming up with this simple song one evening hanging out with Cusick. The chords are very simple (Em to A). I just started singing "You Gotta Believe" to those chords and that's all I had at first. It's all about the slow groove and the feel of this song that makes it work. Then when Huff layered on his guitars it began to come alive which inspired the rest of the song. Cusick came up with a lot of the verse lyric, which I loved, and my melody evolved from there.
