Farewell

People ask me, “Are you quitting?…what’ up?” Well, I’m not quitting. I plan to continue writing songs but I don’t think people actually expect me to release a new album each year. After all, I just released 5 albums - so I guess I have at least a 5 year grace period, wouldn’t you agree?

I guess I could have held back 4 of these albums and released just one of them per year. But heck, this is the season that I’ve been prolific, so I decided to share my music now, while I’m still healthy and happy to do so. I truly hope you enjoy it…

Hey, I’d love to hear from you…Let me know what you think about various songs… Which are your favorite songs? I would love to get your input! (you can reach me personally with an email to: music@songtracker.com). I’ll do my best to answer you as soon as possible. For example, personally, I see “Farewell” as a strong finale song for an artist’s live concert; more-so than an “I’m dying” tune. I hope other artists will make it their's. I think it’s a nice way to tell an audience, it’s been great spending time with you, until we see each other, again. Open to how you see it…

Farewell

I was born in Paradise, so many years ago
To a warm, blue collar family, who raised and loved me so
First time I played music, my soul lit open wide
Not once have I looked back, from that gift I found inside

From bedroom walls to concert halls
I’m right where I belong
And I wouldn’t trade those lonely nights
That gave me one last song

Farewell… I think it’s time I go
Farewell… my friend, I love you so
I’ll see you in my dreams, so please leave on the light
Farewell my love… goodnight…

From smokey bars to studios, old stories of the road
I sang my songs to everyone, who could hear my heart explode
Those times I wore my pen out, on an empty hungry page
Drinking lonesome words, from a thirsty sold out stage

So here’s to all the memories
I left out in the rain
I lift up every melody
That saved me from my pain

Farewell… I think it’s time to go
Farewell… my friends, I love you so
Please keep me in your dreams, and I’ll leave on the light
Farewell my love… goodnight…farewell…

And when my ashes scatter down, like kisses on the ground
May my love live thru my music, for I’ll be heaven bound
Farewell…
Farewell… I think it’s time to go
Farewell… my friend, I love you so
Forever in my dreams, so baby don’t you cry
Farewell my love… goodbye
Forever in my dreams, so baby don’t you cry
Farewell my love… goodbye
Farewell my love… goodbye
Farewell my love… goodbye…
